Curriculum vitae

Upon obtaining a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Madrid, Spain) in 2009, Victoria embarked on the online MA in medical translation offered by the Universidad Jaume I (Valencia, Spain). Simultaneously, she completed her MA courses in translation technologies at the University of Geneva and graduated in January 2012. Her Master’s dissertation combined the areas of Statistical Machine Translation and Controlled Language as well as pre- and post- edition. Shortly after, she joined the multilingual information processing department of this institution and started working as a PhD student in June 2012 to devote most of her time to the Accept project. She is most interested in opening new lines of approach and research in hybrid machine translation and searching for a valid application especially in the medical domaine. In this sense, she likes to quote Hans Uszkoreit: "Our discipline combines ambitious visions and realistic applications".
