Curriculum vitae

Silvia Rodríguez Vázquez is pursuing a Joint Doctoral Degree in Multilingual Information Processing and Translation and Intercultural Mediation at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and the University of Salamanca, Spain, respectively. With a background in localisation and translation technologies, Silvia’s PhD aims at providing a new localisation strategy based on the use of controlled language (CL) software to help improving the transfer of image accessibility and the appropriateness of text alternatives for images during the localisation process. Since April 2011, she works as a research and teaching assistant at the Multilingual Information Processing Department (TIM/ISSCO) of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting in Geneva. She is also an editorial assistant for the journal Parallčles, an interdisciplinary scholarly journal showcasing research in translation and interpreting. Silvia holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Salamanca and a MA in Translation Technologies and Localisation from the University Jaume I, Spain.
